Next Workshop – July 12th

leave a comment »

With the recent influx of new visitors (thanks to Groove and the Korea Times), I will take a moment to mention our next workshop.  It will be on July 12th, from 1pm-5pm at Hello Beans in Itaewon.  The event can be found here.

For new members to our community, some details about our workshops.

The purpose of the workshop is to give and receive feedback on members’ writing.  Criticism is expected to be constructive and honest, and authors whose works are being critiqued should be open to hearing what might be unflattering or painful.

Submissions can be of any creative type, prose or poetry.  Creative non-fiction is possible as are screenplays, but journalistic pieces and op-eds are not really appropriate.  Prose writing may be up to 3000 words in length; up to 5 poems not exceeding 3000 words in total may be submitted.  Submissions are due by 8am on the Thursday before the workshop.  The threads for submissions can be found on our private network.  These threads are deleted on Sunday night after the workshop.

New members are asked to attend at least one workshop before they begin submitting writings.

Attendees should read all the submissions for the workshop before-hand.  If you are submitting something for the workshop, you must return the favor and read the others’ writings.

Though it is very rare, the coordinators of SWW reserve the right to ask a member to not attend in the future if he or she acts inappropriately, plagiarizes, or consistently submits work that is of too low quality.

All writings submitted are completely owned by the submitter.  SWW makes no claim to any rights for the pieces.  Unauthorized use of these materials is absolutely not permitted and will result in immediate banning from the community.

Please email us or leave a comment if you have any questions.  Thanks to everyone for your interest in the Seoul writers’ community.
