Next Workshop – May 2nd

leave a comment »

We are getting a lot more traffic here as we are ramping up advertising the call for submissions to Every Second Sunday 2010.  So, for anyone not familiar with our raison d’etre, I’m posting the info about our next workshop here.  The Facebook event is here.

Welcome to the May 2nd Workshop.

The deadline for submission is 10:00am Thursday, April 29th. After this time, the thread will be locked.
Submissions should be in .doc (Word 2003), .txt, .rtf, or PDF formats.

Prose (short fiction, excerpts from longer works, creative non-fiction, etc)
submissions of up to 3500 words are accepted. Up to 5 poems not exceeding 3500 words in total may also be accept. We do not critique blog posts, journalism, or school assignments.
******SERIOUSLY, 3500 words!  If your submission significantly exceeds this, it will be deleted.*******
If you feel that your piece can only be considered in its entirety, you must ask permission from Chris, Brian, or Mike several days before the submission deadline.  If they feel that it is appropriate, and submissions are light, they may choose to allow it.  Sorry to be strict about this, but the situation is getting out of hand.

If this is your first time to attend, please read the submissions but do not submit any work for critique.

Please read all submitted works, especially if you are submitting your own material for critiquing this week. Grammar and spelling errors should generally be marked on the printed material but do not need to be discussed in the workshop. Honest, constructive criticism is highly encouraged
