“How Do I Get Published?”

with one comment

On agent Rachelle Gardner’s blog, there was a short post wherein she asked for her readers’ answers to the question “How do I get published?”  The resulting comments offer some insight from mostly newly-signed authors that might be of interest to you.  Most of them said some variation of “study, study, study”.  I thought this comment was good in that it reminded me of something I’ve heard a few times but forget to easily.

The best piece of advice I got was from the Authoress. It was simple. Treat writing as your career. It doesn’t matter that you have a day job. You’ve got to get into the mindset that writing is more than just a hobby. Don’t ever call it that, or else you’ll never succeed.
